Brief Description of Classes - Theater Camp Aug 8 - 12, 2011

Brief Description of Classes

Each class is designed to help the students get in touch with and develop that God-given creative spirit He's placed within us.

  

Theater Arts On Stage (Grades 4 - 12) - Pirates of the Caribbean: Treasure Isle

The play is about 30 - 45 minutes long.  Every student will have a part.  Students will audition, memorize lines, block it, and develop their own stage business and will perform it on Friday evening, Aug 12th for loved ones.

  

Acting Classes (Grades 4 - 12)

There are four acting classes, students are recommended to take at least three of them.  The classes willl employ the Method Acting Techniques that have, for over a century, been put to use by Broadway and Hollywood's finest.  We have adapted these techniques to a Christian - Biblical World View.  A brief description of these techniques is available upon request. 

It's A Wrap - Snow White and the Mean Father - Now We're Editing

Thursday afternoon, May 24th, at about 5pm we shot the last line of Snow White and the Mean Father.  We'd been working on this production for nearly three months - one day a week, to be sure, but definitely three months.  That last line I spoke of was a line we hadn't planned on, in fact, the whole ending was different that we planned.  But the kids had something else they wanted to do and since we couldn't get them to stop laughing to film what I'd written, we decided to let them have their way.  Which, as with creativity and kids, turned out to be more fun, anyway.  Then Mike Jordan of Mike Jordan Productions finished the rough edit.  There's still plenty of post production editing and polishing to do, but our hope is that everyone will be invited to a World Premier in July.  And everyone who reads this blog will defiinitely be invited.

What follows is just a quick clip of the first scene, just to give you an idea of what we've been up to.
